Rachael Hopes is a certified personal trainer at Club Fit and she is also one of our class instructors. Rachael established Hopes 4 Health over 7 years ago. "It started because I wanted to help those who started out like me; I couldn’t go to the gym because I didn’t know what to do and I never worked out before. I was unemployed and overweight, by 50 pounds. Then, I decided to take my life back, losing 30 pounds in a little over 30 days! With the help of my husband I decided that my new career focus would be group fitness classes, then expanded to personal training. I’m forever grateful for all the people whose trained with me over the years. My humble beginning as a trainer started in a church in Little Rock, my sister and I ran the church ministry which opened up to anyone who wanted to attend. And it took off from there."
Rachael is certified in personal training and group training and can teach any format, which is why she is able to work with all fitness levels. Her favorite thing about being in the gym is meeting new people and seeing them change their life. "People come see me who can’t do a sit up or push up, when they reach a goal there’s a feeling I can’t describe that they show, and in return I’m rewarded with the fact that I helped with that goal, I helped change someone’s life!"
When Rachael isn't at Club Fit, you an find her napping or hanging out with her husband of 8 years and 16 year old daughter. Rachael believes rest is very important to your body, especially as you age. Rachael truly enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband and all her family and friends. Instead of going out, she likes to hang out at friends houses and play games, eat and laugh. And, you can often find Rachael and her family at Club Fit Downtown working out together.
"I think the hardest part about being a personal trainer is being judged by your look, most people think we’re uptight robots who only eat salads and judge others, it’s quite the contrary for me. I believe in you being happy with a healthy you, whether you’re a healthy in size 2 or size 22! ! We all come in different shapes and sizes, that’s the beauty of the world.
